Since my last update...
October...
Went Back into the studio with Paper Rival.
November...
More vocals with Richie McDonald. Recorded a track with Travis Howard for upcoming film, "Pretty Ugly People".
December...
Spent the beginning of December at Modernist Movement Studios assisting Brian Virtue on Autovaughn's new EP, "The Cycles". I made a gingerbread house.
Did some demos with Frank Myers, and then finished off the year with some ADAT transfers for local rocker J.Paul. And then of course, there's Christmas... I love Christmas.
January and February were kind of slow. There were a bunch of songwriter demos, I did a track with Cowboy Troy for TNA wrestling, and I served on an advisory board for the International Academy of Design and Technology.
March...
Did a Demo for the Pussycat Dolls. Did some work for Tommy Harden over at Starstruck on songs he's pitching to Kelly Clarkson. While I was there, I saw my friend Jerry who happened to be in one of the other studios recording drums for Michelle Branch. I also started pre-production with one of Nashville's great rock bands, Hunted By Angels.
April...
The month started off with demos for Tommy Lee James and recording drums for a new full length by Gene Hadley (formerly of HARD KNOX!). Then I started a record with Country-guitarist, Jeff Garris and began mixing an EP for local emo/rock group, The Twilight Drive. And finally, there were sessions with Danielle Peck and Swedish pop-star, Jill Johnson. Oh, and I also started pre-production on some new tracks for Patience.
May...
More sessions with Jill Johnson. More work on Jeff Garris' record. Work began on Lisa Nemzo's record. Did some demos for Cyndi Thomson. Went to Platinum Lab Studios to track drums for Patience's new project (see their MySpace page for video). Took a much-needed break and went to Florida. Oh, and Richie McDonald decided to track a couple more songs for his record, so we went back into the studio again...
June...
Well so far June has been recording guitars with Patience and more recording with Lisa Nemzo. On June 3rd, both Paper Rival's record, Dialog, and Richie McDonald's inspirational record, I Turn to You, were released. I am proud of both. You should pick them up. Oh, and I was an extra in the Hannah Montana movie. Yay.

Wow. I haven't updated since forever ago. So here's what's been going on...
In June, I did full-length records for acoustic-guitarist, Jeremy Wheat, as well as J?germeister Battle of the Bands-winners, Sally Jayne. I also tracked the vocals for Richie McDonald's upcoming solo record.
July saw the release of Paper Rival's EP. I engineered a track for Cowboy Troy and Lil Jon. And Born Empty stopped in to record some drums for demos.
In August, Patience released their EP, and I got to engineer for producer, Tommy Lee James on the new Cyndi Thomson record.
So far this month, I've done some more sessions with Richie McDonald for a Christmas record. I did a song with Caroline Cutbirth for producer Victoria Shaw, and on Thursday, September 20th, I'll be at 3rd and Lindsley as one of the judges for Discmakers' Independent Music World Series. You should come. (Doors open at 8pm. You should come.)

I've been busy. Paper Rival's EP is finished and set to be released by Photo Finish Records on July 10th. I think their guitarist, Patrick Damphier did an exceptional job on the production and mixing. Check out their MySpace page, www.myspace.com/paperrival to hear new music. I'm currently finishing up with Patience's EP. It's taken a while, but I promise it's been worth the effort. This disc is going to surprise a few people. Last but not least, War Within's CD release party will be Saturday the 26th at 12th and Porter in Nashville. Go there.

Paper Rival has been in the studio, finishing up vocals for their upcoming Photo Finish Records Debut. Meanwhile, local female-fronted rock group, Patience has started work on their upcoming EP, tentatively titled Just Wait. Drums, bass, and guitar are all done and I'm pleased with how things are turning out. We start vocals tonight, and should be finished with everything in the next couple of weeks.

Seventh Day Slumber's new record, "Finally Awake" was released this week. The record was produced by Paul Ebersold in Memphis, TN, and it's definitely worth adding to your collection. And if you can afford the extra eight bucks, get the "Special Edition" version; it features a DVD with videos, as well five bonus acoustic tracks (recorded by yours truly), and a B-Side track from the Memphis sessions.

After nine months of work, War Within's record is complete. We finalized mixes last night, and now it's off to mastering. These guys have been great to work with, and I'm really proud of their record. If you're a metal fan, I highly recommend checking them out live.

Yesterday, Keating started tracking for their Photo Finish Records debut, "One Not One". We're set up at East Iris Studios, tracking drums and bass (and possibly piano). Once the basic tracks are done, the band will be taking the Pro Tools sessions, and doing overdubs on their own. This record is going to be GREAT. I'm really looking forward to hearing the finished product.

Luna Halo was in the studio again today with producer, Tommy Lee James. We tracked a song for the new Wesley Snipes movie, GallowWalker, which is slated for a late Spring release in the US. It's a futuristic film set in the Old West with Zombies. I'm not making this up.

Just got back from the Destroy by Design CD Release Show. What a great band. Oh, and War Within played as well. Maybe their CD will get done someday... Meanwhile, I've been working on a demo for an incredibly talented singer named Sharif Iman. We tracked a couple songs with his band all playing down at the same time. It was great to feel the energy of everyone playing together as a cohesive unit, rather than doing lots of overdubs. Working this way definintely took longer, but in the long run it was worth it.

Mixing has begun on the Seventh Day Slumber tracks. I think the band is going really excited about these. They're turning out great. The release date (March 20th) is approaching quickly, so the label is anxious to get this wrapped up.

Things have been busy! Destroy by Design's record is mixed and back from mastering (which was performed by Erik Wolf). The CD release show is set for Jan. 20th at 12th and Porter. Please come out and support these guys. Last week, Luna Halo was in the studio recording some demos, and tomorrow, Seventh Day Slumber will be coming in to work on bonus material for their upcoming record. Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
